Company History
The Fábrica de Fiação e Tecidos de Barcelos (FFTBL) has been established since 1923 as one of the pioneers in the textile industry in Barcelos.
In the late 60's the Company moved the location of its mill into the present building located in Tamel S.Veríssimo (Barcelos) with a covered area of 18.000 m2 in a total of 55.000 m2.
All development reached through the rationalisation of human and technological means has been supported by investment projects aiming constant modernisation, which finds its reflections today in the three sectors it works with: Spinning, Yarn Dyeing and Knitting.
In order to expand horizons the FFTBL obtains the certification of its Quality System in 1994 according to the NP EN ISO 9002 norm. Nowadays the Company bets in management for Total Quality through the PEX's project. - The Excellency Prize integrated in the Portuguese System for Quality.
Always concerned with environmental politics the Company has established procedures in this vital area to preserve its workers as well as the community itself.
The company invests and takes advantage from the continuous training of its staff as an important factor of distinction and differentiation in the market.

Founded upon a seventy-five-year experience and based on a continuing developing 'know-how', the Company intends to remain as a textile reference by maintaining a top position in the National Market in terms of Quality as well as through a client service which is growing more and more all-embracing according to its demands.
